Kesiapan Adaptasi Siswa SMK dalam Menghadapi Dunia Kerja: Eksplorasi Problem Solving Skill, Emotional Maturity dan Self-Adjustment

Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) menghadapi tantangan adaptasi yang kompleks karena harus memenuhi tuntutan akademik sekaligus mempersiapkan diri memasuki dunia kerja melalui pembelajaran praktik dan Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pengalaman penyesuaian diri siswa SMK serta memahami peran problem solving skill dan emotional maturity dalam mendukung proses adaptasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur dengan satu guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) serta enam siswa kelas XI di SMK Karya Rini YHI Kowani Yogyakarta, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adaptasi siswa SMK berkaitan dengan proses transisi menuju budaya kerja yang menuntut kesiapan akademik, sosial, dan psikologis. Tiga pola utama ditemukan, yaitu kesulitan beradaptasi dengan tuntutan praktik kejuruan, kecenderungan sebagian siswa menghindari kesulitan, serta pentingnya kematangan emosi dalam mengelola tekanan dan mempertahankan respons adaptif. Problem solving skill dan emotional maturity terbukti menjadi sumber daya psikologis penting yang mendukung kemampuan adaptasi siswa. Temuan ini berimplikasi pada perlunya layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang lebih preventif dan berbasis pengalaman untuk menguatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, regulasi emosi, dan kesiapan kerja. Penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan pada jumlah partisipan yang kecil dan cakupan satu sekolah, sehingga hasilnya belum dapat digeneralisasikan pada konteks vokasional lain.
