Adaptasi Siswa SMK terhadap Tuntutan Dunia Kerja: Eksplorasi Problem Solving Skill, Emotional Maturity dan Self Adjustment

Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) menghadapi tantangan adaptasi yang kompleks karena harus memenuhi tuntutan akademik sekaligus mempersiapkan diri memasuki dunia kerja melalui kegiatan praktik dan Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman penyesuaian diri siswa SMK serta memahami peran keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan kematangan emosional dalam mendukung proses adaptasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan enam siswa kelas XI SMK Karya Rini YHI Kowani Yogyakarta sebagai partisipan utama dan satu guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) sebagai informan pendukung. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semiterstruktur dan dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola pengalaman siswa dalam penyesuaian diri, pemecahan masalah, dan pengelolaan respons emosional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses adaptasi siswa berkaitan dengan tuntutan peralihan menuju budaya kerja yang membutuhkan kesiapan akademik, sosial, dan psikologis. Terdapat tiga pola utama yang ditemukan, yaitu tantangan dalam menyesuaikan diri dengan tuntutan praktik kejuruan, variasi respons siswa ketika menghadapi hambatan yang meliputi penghindaran, ketergantungan, dan pencarian bantuan secara adaptif, serta peran kematangan emosional yang tercermin dalam kemampuan mengelola emosi ketika menghadapi tekanan dan mempertahankan respons yang adaptif. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang bersifat preventif dan developmental untuk memperkuat keterampilan pemecahan masalah, regulasi emosi, dan kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi situasi dunia kerja.
