Abstract

This study aims to develop a creative exercise video based on children’s songs that is feasible and practical for use as a learning activity to stimulate the social-emotional development of early childhood learners.

This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research participants included a material expert, a media expert, teachers, and Group B children at TK B Hidayah Gunung Tua. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and teacher response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques through percentage calculations and supported by descriptions of observational findings.

The material expert validation obtained a score of 50 out of a maximum score of 56, equivalent to 89.29%, while the media expert validation obtained a score of 49 out of 56, equivalent to 87.50%. Both results were categorized as highly feasible. The teacher response obtained a score of 30 out of a maximum score of 32, equivalent to 93.75%, indicating that the developed video was highly practical. The implementation also showed that the creative exercise activities provided opportunities for children to cooperate, follow rules, interact with peers, demonstrate self-confidence, and express emotions positively. However, the magnitude of changes in children’s social-emotional development still needs to be supported by systematic pre- and post-implementation observational data.

The creative exercise video based on children’s songs is highly feasible and practical and has the potential to serve as an alternative learning activity for stimulating the social-emotional development of early childhood learners.
